MEDITRACK Company Overview

Company Overview MEDITRACK enables people with asthma and other respiratory conditions, parents of asthmatic children, and health care professionals to better manage respiratory health. The Company’s first product, the DOSER, which is the first and only product of its kind, tracks the use of medication taken from a Metered Dose Inhaler (MDI). With its self-contained microcomputer, the DOSER counts and displays the number of inhalations remaining in the inhaler and displays the number of inhalations taken in the current day. The DOSER also stores the number of inhalations taken in each of the last 30 days in its memory and alerts the user when the MDI is nearly empty. With its self-contained battery, the DOSER lasts a full year. The concept for the DOSER was inspired by the experience of an asthmatic youngster who was caught with an empty inhaler during an asthma attack. The attack worsened and required a trip to the emergency room - an all-too-common scenario for millions of people with a respiratory condition. This incident underscored the fact that there was no reliable way of knowing how much medication was left in an inhaler, nor was there an accurate means of keeping track of the doses taken. Additionally, healthcare professionals had no reliable method for monitoring their patients’ medication use. |
